The light totally changes the space perception of the customers.
Opened in 1998, Equinoccio has established itself as one of the shopping centers with the best leisure and restaurant offers in the northwest of Madrid.
At Equinoccio they are very committed to the environment and the impact that the malls has on it. To minimize this, they launch a series of actions such as photovoltaic panels (installed on the roof of the center), a waste area that manages the recycling and reuse process, and the installation of the LED luminaire in the entire mall.
Elegant architecture and fresh vegetation are the result of the reform of the Equinoccio Park that was completed in 2015, designed by the studios Mesura Architecture and LKS.
The purpose of the project was to modernize and better light up the mall to fulfil the customer’s needs.
The architects contacted us to help them to the lighting projects.
In shopping centers, where different activities are carried out and where we can find different environments, it is very important to carry out a preliminary study to understand the lighting needs of each space and select the luminaire that suits the best to achieve the desired effect.
On this basis, the LSK luminaire was used in all common areas. A linear lighting luminaire that can be perfectly integrated between the wooden ceiling slats.
High resistance spotlights were needed for the terraces of the establishments, so AR111 projectors were used.
An important area of the shopping mall that we had to highlight was the vertical garden. So to emphasis this area, the Comet 45 linear projector was used.
Finally, to give dynamism and create lighting effects in the double-height space of the shopping center, the TUBE luminaires were installed.
TUBE is a suspended LED light designed for architectural and decorative projects. Made of a polycarbonate cylinder, accommodates 16 independent pixels/meter inside. These are located across the fixture, illuminating 360º the fully tube. The luminarie is self-addressable and controlled by DMX.
